Education a fundamental human right and vital to lasting positive change in children’s lives. Every child is entitled to it. It is critical to our development as individuals and as societies, and it helps pave the way to a successful and productive future. When we ensure that children have access to a rights-based, quality education that is rooted in gender equality, we create a ripple effect of opportunity that impacts generations to come. It enhances lives and ends generational cycles of poverty and disease and provides a foundation for sustainable development. A quality basic education better equips girls and boys with the knowledge and skills necessary to adopt healthy lifestyles.
BEFARe actively supports learner centered basic education through broad based and pro-active initiatives to increase literacy levels in the country especially for women and children. BEFARe feels that in this way, one of the principal requirements for the reduction of poverty and the internationally adopted millennium development goals can be met. Complementary actions and synergistic efforts through partnerships, collaborative alliances are also part of the organization’s short and long term goals.
BEFARe is determined to empower people by providing skills to respond to the needs of the disadvantaged and excluded groups, as well as the most vulnerable segments of society, including indigenous populations.
